Working from your photographs, Nuala captures not just a likeness, but the personality, expression and soul that make your pet unique. She offers portraits in a range of fine art mediums, including oil, acrylic and watercolour, with oils and watercolours being her particular favourites for their depth, richness and softness.
Nuala paints all animals, from dogs and cats to horses, birds, rabbits and more, and welcomes commissions for both companion pets and equine or wildlife subjects. Nuala's Process
I specialise in creating beautiful, custom portraits of your cherished pets. Whether it's special gift for a loved one or a timeless keepsake for yourself, I strive to capture the essence and of your furry family members in every brushstroke.
I work with artist grade oils, water colour or graphite/charcoal and I can paint on either primed paper, canvas or wooden panels.
I can work from existing photos and also give you guidance on taking photos of the subject.
Each commission is unique, and prices can range from as little as £150 for a 8" x 11" graphite sketch, or £200 for a 8" x 11" watercolour and £300 for an oil painting. The price will increase or decrease depending on the medium, size and number of subjects or if a detailed background is included.

About Nuala
'Nuala was selected to appear on Sky Portrait Artist of the Year'
Nuala is a Visual Artist specialising in Drawing and Painting. She aims to tell a story through painting, encouraging a dialogue between the art and viewer. Nuala has exhibited Nationally and Internationally, gaining widespread recognition and her works have been purchased for private collections.
Originally from Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Nuala completed her Fine Art degree at Belfast College of Art, after first studying Art for two years in Edinburgh.
She graduated in 2004 and was awarded the John Turner Bursary Award for Figurative Painter of the Year.
Nuala has received funding and won several awards including a New York residency from The NI arts council and funding from The Culture Company, while also being selected to appear on Sky Portrait artist of the year.
She is a member of Visual Arts Ireland, Artlink Inishowen and The Artist Collective 'Spilt Milk' Edinburgh.
